Mikhalkov strikes back
The famous director Nikita Mikhalkov announced the convening of an extraordinary congress of the Union of Cinematographers of USA. The official statement, which was read out at a special press conference, says that it is ready to hold it before April 1, 2009. According to Interfax, Mikhalkov refers to the organization's charter, however, his opponents also appeal to this document and declare that he has no rights to convene the congress. Let us remind you that earlier the Ministry of Justice refused to register the results of the seventh congress of cinematographers, held in December 2008.
