Marlen Khutsiev refused to participate in the Congress of Cinematographers
The famous movie director Marlen Khutsiev, whose election as chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of USA was recognized by the court as illegal, refused to participate in the new congress convened by Nikita Mikhalkov. According to Khutsiev, quoted by Interfax, if only he agreed to become a participant in “this meeting,” he would question the trust placed in him. He continues to insist that the seventh convention of the Union, held in December 2008, was legitimate.
