Columbia Pictures has acquired the rights to movie the popular '90s comic book series The Preacher, according to Variety. Filming based on these graphic novels has been entrusted to director Sam Mendes. In the comics created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, we are talking about a retired Catholic pastor who becomes possessed by the spirit of a creature named Inception, which was born in as a result of an unnatural connection between an angel and a demon. A possessed pastor in the company of an old girlfriend and a heavy drinker Irish vampire sets off in search of God, who also retired, in order to convince him to return to his duties in Heaven.
