The pilot for the TV adaptation of The Preacher, commissioned by AMC in December 2014, has an actor cast for the role of Arsface. According to Deadline, it was Ian Colletti ("Rake").

The Preacher comic series, created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon in the 1990s, focuses on the Reverend Jesse Custer, an obstinate preacher from Texas , which was accidentally possessed by a supernatural creature named Genesis, capable of competing with God himself. Caster, who has practically lost his faith after all his flock died due to the fault of Genesis, goes to seek God, who left Heaven and neglected his duties. Jesse, who now has the gift of getting anyone to do his bidding, is the only one who is able to find God and make him responsible for his actions. Ex-girlfriend Jesse Tulip O'Hare (Ruth Negga, "12 Years a Slave") and his vampire buddy Cassidy accompany him as he searches for answers. But the story doesn't end there: The Assassin's Patron Saint, an immortal being, and a lone shooter from the West, follow Jesse on his heels, hatching evil plans.

Colletti will play Eugene Root, known as Arsface. Even after a failed attempt to copy the suicide of his idol Kurt Cobain, which completely disfigured his face and made his speech illegible, Eugene remains the cutest teenager and is truly devoted to Jesse. The son of a local sheriff, for the eyes of the town dignified as a monster of Frankenstein, did not change his positive attitude towards life. However, he is tormented by the consequences of his actions in the past – perhaps he is afraid that God might turn against him.

Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Kathleen adapted the comic. The latter wrote the script and was appointed showrunner of the TV project, which will be curated by James Weaver ("Neighbors on the Warpath"). Rogen and Goldberg will act as directors. The pilot will begin production in summer 2015 with a premiere scheduled for 2016. The creators of the comic, Ennis and Dillon, are listed as co-producers. It is rumored that Dominic Cooper is being considered for the role of Jesse Custer, which has not yet been officially confirmed.
