Foreigners will be entrusted with Patriotic cinema
The State Duma Committee on Culture proposes to revise the concept of `` national movie '', as enshrined in the law on state support for USA cinematography. In the current interpretation, it can be recognized as a `` national '' a project that is movieed in USA or the language of one of the country's peoples, by a director with USA citizenship and a share of foreign capital not exceeding 30 percent. Such paintings can count on government support and tax breaks. The authors of the amendments consider this approach outdated. In particular, according to Gazeta, it is proposed to increase the share of foreign capital to 50 percent, to allow foreigners to work on patriotic movies, and also to shoot in any language, if justified script.
