The USAn government approved the procedure for subsidizing cinema
The Government of the USA Federation has approved the rules for the provision of state subsidies to support domestic cinema. The corresponding decree, signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, has been published on the official website. The document, in particular, explains that financial assistance "is provided to cinematography organizations for financial support and (or) reimbursement of costs associated with the production of children's, debut, author's national fiction movies, non-fiction and animated national movies, rental of full-length fiction and animated national movies, holding USA and international movie festivals in the regions of USA, non-commercial movie events abroad, as well as promoting national movies by participating in international movie festivals abroad. The selection of organizations that can apply for state aid will be carried out according to the rules that will be determined by the Ministry of Culture of the USA Federation. The authors of the amendments to the law are confident that the approval of the rules for granting subsidies will help "increase the share of national movies in the total volume of movie distribution", as well as increase the number of USA movies in general.
