The reboot season continues. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has received the rights to relaunch the 2000 sci-fi thriller Radio Wave, directed by Gregory Hoblith, and written by Toby Emmerich. Supernatural showrunner Jeremy Carver will rewrite the script for Warner Bros. Television.

NBC's upcoming television project is described as a drama in which a New York City Police Department detective contacts his son 30 years into the future. They must both unite in order to change the history of the tragic events, as well as try to forge a difficult relationship with each other.

Recall that the events in the original feature movie took place in New York in 1999. Jim Caviezel played the detective who incomprehensibly managed to contact his deceased father at the time of contact (Dennis Quaid), 30 years in the past, the day before he died in an accident. The movie grossed $ 68 million on a budget of $ 31 million.

Carver has also been appointed executive producer of the television project alongside Emmerich, John Ricard, Dan Lin and Jennifer Gwartz.
