Riley Smith ("Nashville", "True Detective") has received the lead male role in the pilot of the TV series "Radio Wave", based on Toby Emmerich's sci-fi thriller "Radio Wave". In the pilot of The CW, Smith will play the role of Frank Sullivan, the character of Dennis Quaid from the 2000 movie. This is reported by Deadline.

The television series, scripted by Supernatural showrunner Jeremy Carver, focuses on police detective Raimi, who discovers in 2016 that she can communicate with her father, Detective Frank Sullivan (Smith). who died in 1996, using an amateur radio.

The synopsis says that by 1996, Frank Sullivan had been undercover for two years. An incredibly stressful assignment ruined his marriage and his bond with his little daughter Raimi was cut off. Now he gets the chance to get to know Raimi again when she accidentally contacts him from the future 20 years later. Together, they strike up a new relationship and work on an unresolved murder case, however, the effects of the so-called "butterfly effect" are causing chaos in the modern world.

Smith already has experience with The CW, where he starred in a recurring roles in the drama series "The Messengers".
