The CW departs for Transylvania in the late nineteenth century. According to Deadline, The CW bought the rights to the drama project from the TV content producer Midnight Radio – a team of producers movieing a summer thriller for CBS Zoo. They include Jeff Pinkner (Lost), Josh Appelbaum (Mission Impossible 4: Phantom Protocol), Andre Nemec (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2) and Scott Rosenberg (The Unfortunate). The series, written by Hugh Sterbakov ("To Hell and Back"), takes place in 1880. A headstrong young woman in search of her missing father travels from New York to Transylvania, where she joins forces with an unfairly suspended Scotland Yard detective. Together they witness the birth of the most famous monster and villain in history. Sterbakov is also the executive producer of the TV project. CBS Studios, which has a partnership with Midnight Radio, will produce the TV project. Recall that CBS has extended the Zoo series for a second season, and Midnight Radio will continue to act as executive producer and showrunner for the drama based on the novel of the same name by popular American writer James Patterson.
