CBS has received the rights to produce an hour-long pilot episode of the action comedy from the acclaimed Rush Hour franchise. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The upcoming TV remake will be movieed in the same tone as the New Line Cinema trilogy and will tell the story of a pedantic Hong Kong police officer who came to Los Angeles to investigate and had to work with a self-confident black police officer who is not interested in a new partner.

Bill Lawrence and Blake McCormick, who worked together on the series "City of Predators," will write and executive produce a television project, which will be movieed by studio Warner Bros. Television. Original movies directed by Brett Ratner and trilogy producer Arthur M. Sarkissian will share executive producer duties with Lawrence and McCormick.

The original trilogy, which grossed nearly $ 850 million worldwide, stars Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. In August of this year, Jackie Chan announced that he was waiting for a good script to star in the fourth movie in the franchise.
