CBS has ordered the production of a pilot for the TV adaptation of the Rush Hour movie franchise. The Hollywood Reporter reports this with reference to CBS.

The television remake, curated by Bill Lawrence ("City of Predators"), will have a tonality reminiscent of the original New Line Cinema movies. In the center of the plot will be a pedantic policeman from Hong Kong, forced to investigate in Los Angeles, and a self-confident black officer of the local police department, completely uninterested in a new partner. Casting for the main roles is already underway. Recall that in the trilogy, the main roles were played by Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. Last August, Jackie Chan announced that he was waiting for a good script to appear in the fourth movie in the franchise.
