IMAX will open 35 cinemas in Asia
IMAX Corporation has announced grandiose expansion plans in the Asian region. According to an official press release, the Canadian company intends to open 35 new halls, of which 30 will be built in China and five more in Korea. Under an agreement with the regional company CJ CGV Holdings, Ltd. by the end of 2015, IMAX cinemas in major Korean cities will be equipped with a new generation of laser projection systems. Note that by the spring of 2013, 133 IMAX halls were operating in China, and another 117 were under construction.
