US Directors Guild Announces Winners (Films)
In Los Angeles, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel, the US Directors Guild Awards ceremony took place. Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Birdman) won the feature movies section. His rivals included Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Clint Eastwood (American Sniper), Richard Linklater (Boyhood) and Morten Tildum (The Imitation Game). The ceremony also announced the establishment of a new nomination - Best Debut Directorial Work, the winner of which will be announced in 2016. Recall that earlier the cast of the movie "Birdman" (Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Michael Keaton, Andrea Riseborough, Amy Ryan) was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award. The movie also won the Producers Guild's Best Producer Group for a Feature Film category and won seven Critics Choice Awards. "Birdman" is one of the top contenders for Academy Awards.
