Oscar 2015: Academy Awards named Best Director
The Academy has announced the winner of the 2015 Academy Award for Best Director. The award went to Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Birdman). His nominees were Richard Linklater (Adolescence), Bennett Miller (Fox Hunter), Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel) and Morten Tildum (The Imitation Game). This is Alejandro Gonzalez Inarrit's first Academy Award for Directing. Previously, he was nominated for an Oscar for the movie Babylon. At the 2015 Oscars, he also won the Best Screenplay award. In the movie "Birdman" it was about a popular actor in the past, who played a superhero, who wants to return to the stage, staging a new performance and gaining former glory. The movie stars Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Michael Keaton, Andrea Riseborough, Amy Ryan, Bill Camp, John Douglas Rainey, Shade Roop and other actors.
