The US Producers Guild has announced the nominees for its 2014 award. In the main category "best production group of a full-length movie" the following movies are announced: "American Sniper", "Birdman", "Boyhood", "Fox Hunter", "Gone Girl", "The Grand Budapest Hotel", "The Imitation Game", "Stringer", "Theory of Everything" and "Obsession".

City of Heroes, Book of Life, Family of Monsters, How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Lego Movie will compete for the award in the category "Best Production Group for an Animated Film".

Note that, as a rule, a movie that received an award from the Producers Guild, then wins an Academy Award. So, in 2014, the Guild Award was shared by two movies - "12 Years of Slavery" and "Gravity". Subsequently, the first received an Oscar in the category "best movie", and the second was awarded an award in the category "best director". The Frozen Project was named Best Animated Film, which also received an Academy Award.

Producers Guild Award winners will be named at a ceremony to be held on January 24, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
