The program of the 69th Cannes Film Festival has been announced
The organizing committee of the 69th Cannes Film Festival presented a list of movies that will qualify for the main awards. The main competition program includes movies from 13 countries, including works by Sean Penn, Paul Verhoeven, Luc Dardenne, Jean-Pierre Dardenne, Xavier Dolan, Bruno Dumont, Ken Loach, Jeff Nichols, Pedro Almodovar, Nicholas Winding Refn and other directors. The movie by USA director Kirill Serebrennikov "(M) Apprentice", based on the play by the German playwright Marius von Mayenburg, will be presented in the program "Unusual Look". Out of competition will be screened Steven Spielberg's movie "The Good and Big Giant", as well as the drama "Financial Monster" directed by Jodie Foster. The opening movie will be a new work by Woody Allen entitled "Club Society". For the famous moviemaker, this will be his third opening movie at the Cannes Film Festival. Let us remind you that the Australian director George Miller was appointed chairman of the international jury. The 69th Cannes Film Festival will take place from 11 to 22 May 2016.
