Anniversary Film Festival starts in Cannes
The 70th International Film Festival opens in Cannes. The opening movie is based on the work of Arno Deplechin entitled "The Ghosts of Ishmael". The opening and closing ceremonies will be hosted by the popular Italian actress Monica Bellucci. The movie by USA director Andrei Zvyagintsev "Dislike" is participating in the main competition program and will compete for the main trophy - "Palme d'Or" of the anniversary movie festival. As reported on the official website of the most prestigious European movie forum, the movie tells about a couple who have been married for more than ten years and are experiencing a crisis in relations. Also, a movie by Ukrainian director Serhiy Loznitsa will be eligible for the 70th movie festival award under the name "Gentle". In total, 18 movies from different countries participate in the main program of the Cannes Film Festival, including movies of such famous directors as Francois Ozon, Michel Hazanavichus, Michael Haneke, Sofia Coppola, each of which in different years claimed the awards of the most prestigious movie festival in Europe.
