Cannes 2016: Cote d'Azur beckons the stars
At a press conference in Paris, the program of the 69th Cannes International Film Festival was announced, which will take place this year from 11 to 22 May.Twenty films will take part in the main competition program of the festival. Such permanent participants of the famous European film festival as Pedro Almodovar, Jim Jarmusch, Nicholas Winding Refn, Pak Chang Wook, Jeff Nichols, Nicole Garcia, Briyante Mendoza, Olivier Assayas, Bruno Dumont, Andrea Arnold and Xavier Dolan will also present their work to the jury. In addition, the winner of the Silver Prize at the Cannes Film Festival for Best Actor Sean Penn, cult director Paul Verhoeven and other talented directors are ready to compete for the valuable prize.  The fierce battle for the " Golden Palm " will take place without the participation of USA films, but our country will receive representation in the second most important film festival program. Kirill Serebrennikov’s drama “(M) student” will be nominated for the “ Special Look ” award.  The list of films that will be shown out of competition turned out to be no less impressive this year.
