Neil Blomcamp acknowledged minimal chances of shooting Alien 5
The chances that Fox will still give the green light to a Neil Blomcamp movie set in the Alien universe is negligible. This recognition was made by the director himself, answering questions from his fans on the social network Twitter. Blomcamp did not elaborate on what his point of view is based on. Recall that the South African director, who, by his own admission, is a big fan of the first two parts of the series, on his own initiative created a number of concepts and a draft version of the script for a movie with the working title "Alien 5". It was assumed that the action will take place immediately after the events of the movie "Aliens", that is, in fact, the storylines of the next two episodes will be ignored. Blomcamp intended to make Corporal Hicks and Ellen Ripley the main characters. The performers of the roles of these characters have given their principal consent to participate in the project. James Cameron, to whom Blomcamp presented his ideas, called them interesting, able to breathe new life into the franchise. However, Fox abandoned this project for the version that Ridley Scott suggested.
