Neil Blomcamp commented on the posting on his Twitter page of a series of concept art related to the Alien franchise. According to the director of District 9, he worked on them during breaks during the movieing of his new movie "Robot Called Chappy."

"FOX didn’t know I was doing this, so the illustrations were completely unauthorized. But for me it wasn’t just fun. It’s something I would like to do in the future," he said. Blomcamp emphasized that he consulted with Sigourney Weaver, who starred in his movie.

"For FOX, the appearance of these works was a real shock. But I was not aiming for this. I just wanted to share concepts with those who love this franchise. I can not say yet whether something will come out of this or not. Let's see." - he added. Blomkamp also did not rule out that if it is impossible to realize his ideas on the screen, he can release a sequel to "Aliens" in the form of a graphic novel.

Recall that earlier the director repeatedly said that "Aliens" by James Cameron is one of his favorite movies. The illustrations posted on Twitter showed the aged Ellen Ripley, Corporal Dwayne Hicks, the Alien Queen, and some laboratories. Blomkamp did not explain these publications at the time.
