Neil Blomkamp is entrusted with the Alien sequel
Neil Blomcamp will indeed direct a direct sequel to the acclaimed sci-fi movie Alien. The director himself announced this on his official Twitter page. "Well, now this is officially my next movie," he wrote. Recall that the director previously published several illustrations related to the popular franchise. They depicted the aged Ellen Ripley, Corporal Dwayne Hicks, Alien Queen, and some laboratories. Later, the director explained that he developed these concepts on his own initiative during the breaks between the movieing of the movie "The Robot Called Chappy." If the "go-ahead" for the shooting of the new movie "Alien 5" from this series was not received, Blomcamp was going to publish his illustrations in the form of a graphic novel. Officials from 20th Century Fox have confirmed Blomkamp's involvement in the creation of the sequel to Alien, while emphasizing that the project will have nothing to do with the movie Prometheus, the sequel of which the studio still expects to shoot in the foreseeable future. Terms of work on the project and its possible rental schedule have not yet been specified.
