Castlevania renewed for a second season
The streaming service Netflix has renewed its new original animated series Castlevania, based on the popular video game series, for a second season. The number of episodes in the second season will double to eight episodes. Written by the famous comic book writer Warren Ellis, the series is a dark medieval fantasy inspired by the eponymous classic series of video games of the Japanese company Konami, according to the publication Deadline. The plot revolves around the last surviving member of the renowned Belmonts clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extermination at the hands of Vlad Dracula the Tepes himself. Graham McTavish (Dracula), Richard Armitage (Trevor Belmont), James Callis (Alucard), Emily Swallow (Lisa Tepes), Matt Frewer (Bishop), Tony Amendola (Elder) and Alexandra Reinoso (Sifa Belnades). Warren Ellis, Kevin Cold, Adi Shankar and Fred Seibert share executive producer responsibilities. The series is produced by Powerhouse Animation. The director's chair is taken by Sam Deets.
