Tom Cruise will play in the new version of The Mummy
Tom Cruise will star in the new version of The Mummy, directed by Alex Kurtzman for Universal. According to the Variety edition, Cruz became the first officially approved member of the acting troupe. What character he will play is not specified yet. The Mummy is expected to be the first project in an interconnected MCU of classic monsters that the studio is about to create. The movie will be based on a screenplay prepared by John Spates. The premiere is scheduled for March 24, 2017.
