A woman will be a monster in the new Mummy
Studio Universal plans to relaunch the popular series of movies "The Mummy" and make the main antagonist of the female monster. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter with reference to its sources among the project developers. It is argued that the casting is in full swing, and its success will depend on whether viewers will see the traditional interpretation of the popular story, or whether the ancient Egyptian monster is really waiting for a sex change. Recall that in both the original 1932 version and the 1999 remake, the villain was exclusively male. Information about Universal studio's readiness to shoot a new version of "The Mummy" first appeared in 2012. For some time, the director of the picture was listed the creator of "Another World" Len Wiseman. However, in the summer of 2013, he was forced to leave the project due to a conflict in movieing schedules. Then Andres Muschetti took his place. but he eventually gave up on the remake. At the time of this writing, Alex Kurtzman is listed as the director.
