Universal Pictures has postponed the premiere of the new Mummy
The Universal Pictures movie studio, along with other major Hollywood studios, has joined the process of revising the distribution schedules of its promising movie projects. According to the official press release, the premiere date was changed by the remake of the classic horror movie "The Mummy". Instead of March 24, 2017, as previously planned, the picture will be presented to viewers on June 9, 2017. The reason for the revision is not specified. The main competitors of "Mummy" in this rolling "window" will be the fantastic movies "War of the Worlds Z 2" and "Divergent, Chapter 4". The movie will be directed by Alex Kurtzman and based on a screenplay by John Spates. Tom Cruise and Sophia Boutella, who played the villainess in Kingsman: The Secret Service, are expected to play the lead roles, with the latter to be the main antagonist of the remake.
