The National Academy of Motion Picture Arts has presented the list of nominees for the 2016 Golden Eagle Award. In total, more than 50 full-length movies, dozens of TV series, animation projects and non-fiction movies will apply for the award.

In the main nomination "Best Film" the movies "Battalion", "Battle for Sevastopol", "End of a Beautiful Epoch", "Dear Hans, Dear Peter", "About Love" will fight for the victory.

In the "Best Director" category, rivals will be Sergei Mokritsky ("Battle for Sevastopol"), Stanislav Govorukhin ("The End of a Beautiful Epoch"), Alexander Mindadze ("Dear Hans, Dear Peter").

Maria Aronova ("Battalion"), Yulia Peresild ("Battle for Sevastopol") and Renata Litvinova ("About Love") are mentioned in the nomination "Best Actress in a Movie". Evgeny Tsyganov ("Battle for Sevastopol"), Ivan Kolesnikov ("The End of a Beautiful Epoch") and Fyodor Bondarchuk ("Ghost") are represented in a similar male category.

The "Once Upon a Time in Rostov", "Orlova and Aleksandrov" and "Homeland" TV projects will compete for "Golden Eagle 2016" in the "Best TV Series" nomination. In the nomination "Best Animated Film" rivals will be "Star", "The Unusual Journey of the Seraphim" and "Three Heroes: The Move of the Knight.

Birdman, The Martian and Stephen Hawking's Universe are nominated for the award for Best Foreign Film in USA.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony on January 29, 2016.
