2016 Nicknames Announced
The USA Academy of Motion Picture Arts has presented a short list of nominees for the Nika 2016 award. In the main category "Best Film" the movies "Battalion", "Battle for Sevastopol", "End of a Beautiful Epoch", "Dear Hans, Dear Peter", "About Love" and "Country of OZ" will compete for the victory. Danila Kozlovsky ("Duhless 2") is presented in the nomination "Best Actor". Oleg Yagodin ("Orleans") and Alexander Yatsenko ("Insight"). Irina Kupchenko ("Teacher"), Yulia Peresild ("Battle for Sevastopol") and Yana Troyanova ("Country of OZ") will be nominated for the Nika 2016 award in a similar women's category. Alexey German Jr. will compete for the title "Best Director". ("Under the Electric Clouds"), Anna Melikyan ("About Love"), Vasily Sigarev ("Country of OZ") and Stanislav Govorukhin ("The End of a Beautiful Era"). Yuri Arabov ("Orleans"), Alexander Mindadze ("Dear Hans, Dear Peter") and Alexey Fedorchenko ("Angels of the Revolution") were named as contenders in the nomination "Best Screenplay". It was also announced that the prize "For Honor and Dignity" was given the name of the famous Soviet and USA director Eldar Ryazanov. This award was awarded to Alice Freundlich.
