Nika Prize 2016 awarded in Moscow
The Nika 2016 awards ceremony was held in Moscow, awarded by the USA Academy of Cinematic Arts. The main award in the category "Best Film" went to the movie "Dear Hans, Dear Peter", directed by Alexander Mindadze. The latter was also awarded Best Screenplay. Stanislav Govorukhin, who directed the movie "The End of a Beautiful Era", was recognized as the Best Director of 2015. His rivals were Alexei German Jr. ("Under the Electric Clouds"), Anna Melikyan ("About Love"), Vasily Sigarev ("Country of OZ"). In the category "The best movie of the CIS and Baltic countries" the victory was won by the picture "Heavenly nomad", the author of which was the Kyrgyz director Mirlan Abdykalykov. In the nomination "Best Music", the Academy awards were given to Pyotr Todorovsky and Alexey Aigi, who worked on the soundtrack of the movie "In the distant forty-fifth ... Meetings on the Elbe". The cartoon "Vasya the Wolf" was recognized as the best animated movie in 2015. Alisa Freundlich was awarded the honorary prize "Honor and Dignity".
