Al Pacino sees nothing shameful in movieing a new version of the cult crime drama Scarface. The famous actor, who played the main role in the 1983 version, is quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.

"This is part of our job. We sometimes shoot remakes. For example, I want to make a remake of a movie that I watched the day before. I can't tell you yet. I can only say that this is a movie from fifty years ago," he said.

Note that Universal has repeatedly tried to shoot a new version of the classic 1932 movie release. Candidates for the post of director and lead actor have been discussed since 2010, but the project has never received the green light. In early 2015, it became known that the script for the remake was entrusted to Jonathan Herman, who worked on the plot of the movie Straight from Compton.

Recall that in the first movie, the main character, making his way to Olympus of the underworld, was Italian, and in the second - Cuban, which was quite consistent with the spirit of that time. The nationality of the hero of the third movie was not known at the time of this writing. It was speculated that he could become a Mexican building his criminal empire in Los Angeles.
