David Ayer received an offer to movie the Scarface Remake

Universal has picked up a replacement for Antoine Fuqua as director of the new version of the crime drama Scarface. According to The Hollywood Reporter, citing its sources, the project may be led by the creator of "Suicide Squad" David Ayer.

Recall that the search for a director for the remake took the studio more than a year. For various reasons, several famous Hollywood directors dropped out of the project. The latest of these was Fukua, who announced his refusal to work on the movie due to a conflict in movieing schedules in early 2017.

Scarface is the story of the rise and fall of an ambitious immigrant gangster, which was first told to the audience in 1932. Best known is the 1983 remake, in which Al Pacino played the main role. Earlier it was reported that in the new version the action will be transferred from Miami to Los Angeles, and the main character will be a refugee from a Latin American country.

At the time of this writing, Diego Luna was listed as the key performer, weight class "in Hollywood after participating in the movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." Terms of work and a possible rental schedule are still not specified.
