History will direct a series about drug lord Joaquin El Chapo Guzman
The History Channel is ready to tell the story of drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network is developing a scripted drama "#Cartel", which will explore the wars waged to control the drug trade on a global scale, based on the true story of El Chapo (Shorty). Together Written by former Netflix showrunner Chris Brencheto, the project will be produced by ABC Signature and A + E Studios. The drama will show El Pacho's rise to power and how drug cartels use social media to maintain their own image, they recruit new members and intimidate competitors.
