Main cast assigned in the remake of Get Shorty
Epix has found the leading actors in the TV version of the movie "Get Shorty", based on the novel of the same name by Elmore Leonard. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Ray Romano (Vinyl) and Chris O'Dowd (Geeks) have been cast to play the characters Gene Hackman and John Travolta from the 1995 feature movie. The dark comedy revolves around Miles Daley (O'Dowd), who works his muscles and fists for a deadly criminal group in Nevada. For the sake of his daughter, Miles wants to change his profession and become a movie producer, having laundered money in Hollywood. But the criminal past doesn't want to let Miles go and follows him to Los Angeles. Romano will play Rick, a run-down low-standard movie producer who becomes Miles' partner and guide through the labyrinths of Hollywood. Davy Holmes (Shameless) has adapted the project for television and will take on the duties of executive producer. The ten-part comedy will begin production this fall and will debut on Epix in the summer of 2017.
