Irish actor and screenwriter Chris O'Dowd is adapting his comedy series "Baby Moon", which aired on UK's Sky, for ABC. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

O'Dowd will write the script and take on the functions of the executive producer of the adapted project. At the time of this writing, O'Dowd is not going to take part in the series as an actor.

The first season of the original sitcom consisted of six episodes, which aired in 2012 on Sky. The second season, which also includes six episodes, kicked off earlier this year. The third season is in production.

The Hollywood Reporter's lead critic Tim Goodman considers "Little Moon" to be the best comedy of 2013 and also "the biggest surprise of the year." "So few people know about the show, but they fall in love with it. The heart-warming story, set in Ireland, with fantastic actors led by O'Dowd, has become one of the most charming series on television," the critic said.

For the Irishman O'Dowd, cooperation with the American television network is not the first time.
