Ben Affleck has decided on his next directorial project. According to Deadline, he is going to movie the story of the making of Chinatown, starring Jack Nicholson.

The Big Goodbye is going to be funded by Paramount. The script will be based on a book by Sam Wasson called "The Big Goodbye: Chinatown and the Last Years of Hollywood". Most likely, the shooting will take place in 2021.

Chinatown, which was movieed by director Roman Polanski, is now considered a classic of the noir genre. The painting has received many prestigious professional awards. In particular, Robert Towne received an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Screenplay, and in total, the drama nominated 11 Academy Awards and seven Hollywood Foreign Press Association awards.

At the end of 2019, it was reported that streaming service Netflix is going to shoot a prequel to "Chinatown" and intends to entrust this responsible event to the director David Fincher.
