Roman Polanski's movie Chinatown topped the list of the best movie projects of all time, according to critics of the British publications The Guardian and Observer. Note that Chinatown was the last movie made by Polanski in the United States, shortly before his forced flight. The picture was nominated for 11 Academy Awards, but received only one - for the best screenplay. The main role in the movie was played by Jack Nicholson.
