Image Universal Cable Productions intends to continue its successful partnership with USA Network. Over the past few years, the Californian studio has helped the cable network to air such popular series as Mr. Robot, The Colony, Queen of the South, The Shooter and The Sinner. According to Deadline, the next joint project between UCP and the USA Network may be a television adaptation of the detective novel "The Dancing Bear" by James Crumley.

The project has yet to receive an official filming order, but the UCP bosses have already managed to enlist the support of a real Hollywood superstar. Should USA Network decide to go into production, two-time Academy Award-winning Mel Gibson will direct the pilot.

The protagonist of Krumli's book was detective Milo Dragovich, who decided to close his detective agency and get a quiet and calm position as a night guard. The protagonist takes on the last case, but finds himself drawn into a web of lies and becomes a pawn in someone's complex criminal game ...
