Meizu has announced its 2020 flagship lineup, which is the first for the brand to include a Meizu 5G cellular smartphone. The manufacturer created the Meizu 17 family, first of all, as a competitive answer to the flagship Galaxy S20 and Xiaomi Mi 10. The Meizu flagship is distinguished by the presence of the most relevant Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 mobile chip, the main camera with four sensors and a cost that starts from 38,000 rubles. , and in comparison with the main competitors it turned out to be less.
The series is represented by the Meizu 17 smartphone and its Pro version. Their main differences are related to the characteristics of cameras, RAM modules and limited support for wireless charging. So, Meizu 17 is equipped with the LPDDR4X standard, and the Meizu 17 Pro RAM is a more modern LPDDR5 solution. In addition, the Pro version supports wireless charging.
In general, Meizu 2020 smartphones have a lot of similarities. Both models received 6.6-inch screens based on Super AMOLED-matrix with Full HD + resolution. The displays support HDR10 + mode, are protected by the proprietary Gorilla Glass 5 coating, and their features include the presence of DC Dimming, a mechanism that reduces screen flickering, which in turn ensures less damage to the eyes.
The main smartphone is the eight-core Snapdragon 865, which is the most productive processor in the Qualcomm family. The cores of the 7nm chip are divided into three clusters. It is complemented by the graphics of the Adreno 650 and the X55 modem, which is responsible for interacting with 5G networks.
The devices are powered by a built-in 4500 mAh battery. Both flagships are compatible with 30W wired charging, while the older Meizu Pro smartphone additionally supports the 27W wireless standard. Smartphones are equipped with two SIM card slots, have an NFC-module, support wireless Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6. As protection they are equipped with a fingerprint scanner in the screen.
The operating system is Android 10, supplemented by the proprietary shell Flyme OS 8.1.
The front optics of the 17 and 17 Pro are the same and are represented by a 20-megapixel module. The main camera of smartphones has support for artificial intelligence and includes four sensors. The module system of both smartphones is identical in terms of a number of functions, for example, the ability to record in Full HD format and 4K videos at 60 fps, but the difference lies in the characteristics of the sensors themselves.
So, the junior smartphone "Meizu" received a camera with the following set of modules. The main sensor is a 64MP Sony IMX686, which complements the 12MP portrait lens, 8MP wide angle and 5MP ToF camera. The older brother Meizu 17 Pro has a camera system formed by a 64 MP main sensor, a 32-megapixel wide-angle, an 8 MP telephoto module with 3x zoom and a ToF lens.
In the simplest configuration, 8/128 GB, the Meizu smartphone is estimated at 38.7 thousand rubles. Assembling 8/256 GB will cost 41.8 thousand rubles. The price of the older Pro version in the 8/128 GB version is 44.9 thousand rubles, in the 12/256 GB version - 49.1 thousand rubles. In addition, the manufacturer announced the release of a limited series of Meizu 17 Pro in a ceramic case, the cost of which will be 104.5 thousand rubles.
