Meizu has announced its 2020 flagship lineup, which is the first for the brand to include a Meizu 5G cellular smartphone. The manufacturer created the Meizu 17 family, first of all, as a competitive answer to the flagship Galaxy S20 and Xiaomi Mi 10. The Meizu flagship is distinguished by the presence of the most relevant Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 mobile chip, the main camera with four sensors and a cost that starts from 38,000 rubles. , and in comparison with the main competitors it turned out to be less.

The series is represented by the Meizu 17 smartphone and its Pro version. Their main differences are related to the characteristics of cameras, RAM modules and limited support for wireless charging. So, Meizu 17 is equipped with the LPDDR4X standard, and the Meizu 17 Pro RAM is a more modern LPDDR5 solution. In addition, the Pro version supports wireless charging.

General specifications

In general, Meizu 2020 smartphones have a lot of similarities. Both models received 6.6-inch screens based on Super AMOLED-matrix with Full HD + resolution. The displays support HDR10 + mode, are protected by the proprietary Gorilla Glass 5 coating, and their features include the presence of DC Dimming, a mechanism that reduces screen flickering, which in turn ensures less damage to the eyes.

It is complemented by the graphics of the Adreno 650 and the X55 modem, which is responsible for interacting with 5G networks.

The devices are powered by a built-in 4500 mAh battery. Both flagships are compatible with 30W wired charging, while the older Meizu Pro smartphone additionally supports the 27W wireless standard. Smartphones are equipped with two SIM card slots, have an NFC-module, support wireless Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6. As protection they are equipped with a fingerprint scanner in the screen.

The operating system is Android 10, supplemented by the proprietary shell Flyme OS 8.1.

Camera Features

The front optics of the 17 and 17 Pro are the same and are represented by a 20-megapixel module. The main camera of smartphones has support for artificial intelligence and includes four sensors. The module system of both smartphones is identical in terms of a number of functions, for example, the ability to record in Full HD format and 4K videos at 60 fps, but the difference lies in the characteristics of the sensors themselves.
