The Chinese company presented the Oppo smartphone with the parameters of the main camera, which at the time of the announcement of the gadget were not available from any of the competitors. The company released the announced XT model within its subsidiary Realme brand, and unlike smartphones from other manufacturers, Realme XT became the first in the world to have a 64-megapixel camera.
Competitors do not sleep, and at least one more company (we are talking about Xiaomi) has officially presented a new family of Redmi Note 8, in which one of the models became the same owners of a camera with a 64 MP sensor. The announcements of new products by Oppo and Xiaomi took place at about the same time, but Oppo was ahead of the competitor by just a few hours, which allowed its Realme XT to receive the unspoken status of the world's first 64-megapixel smartphone.
So, the main thing that made the Oppo phone stand out from other mobile gadgets was the 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 module with f / 1.8 optics. Together with it, the main camera of Realme XT includes four sensors - 8, 2 and 2 MP. The 8 MP module is responsible for wide-angle coverage, the other two - for macro photography, frame depth and various background effects.
At the moment of receiving a frame, data from all four modules are combined into a single snapshot. Parameters for obtaining 64-MP photos are set through the menu settings (by default, the main camera module takes 16 MP frames), and the weight of the images in this case will be 21 MP.
The selfie camera has a 16MP Sony IMX 471 module.
In general, the new XT is not a flagship, if we consider the other characteristics of the gadget separately from the camera specifications. And this completely coincides with the positioning of the subsidiary brand itself, in which Realme smartphones of the middle level are initially present. The basis of the new smartphone is an improved version of last year's Snapdragon 710 - the Snapdragon 712 chip of the current year of release, manufactured in accordance with the 10nm process technology. The processor is complemented by an additional Hexagon 685 chip and Adreno 616 graphics.
On both sides, the gadget is protected by a proprietary Gorilla Glass 5. On the front panel there is a thin-frame 6.4-inch screen on an AMOLED matrix, there is a small cutout for the camera and a built-in fingerprint scanner. The smartphone is powered by a non-removable 4000 mAh battery with support for 20 W fast charging.
In addition, the Oppo smartphone has built-in support for Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 and 5 GHz bands) and Bluetooth 5.0 communication systems. Realme XT is available in 4.6 and 8 GB versions in terms of RAM, as well as 64 and 128 GB of internal memory. The Android 9 Pie operating system is complemented by the proprietary ColorOS 6.0.1 shell. The smartphone has support for two SIM cards, is equipped with a port for microSDXC, a standard audio jack.
The company does not name the exact date of the start of sales of Realme XT. We only know that this will happen in September. At the same time, the company is planning a large-scale presentation of it in the global mobile markets. Also, the manufacturer has not yet decided on the final cost of the gadget.
