The Pixel family from Google has been expanded with two representatives that differ in the most budgetary cost among the entire line. One of them - the Pixel smartphone (3A) has become a simplified version of the "big brother" Pixel 3 from 2018, the second 3A XL is a correspondingly more democratic version of the Pixel 3XL. The new Pixel 3A and 3A XL were rated lower than their predecessors, initially due to the presence of a less powerful Snapdragon 670 chipset. In addition, the cost reduction was not only because of this. The new 3A and 3A XL use less expensive materials. So, instead of glass on the back panel of the case, which was a kind of distinctive characteristic of representatives of all three Pixel lines, the manufacturer used plastic. The frontal surface was also modified. Instead of the proprietary reinforced Gorilla Glass coating, they took a more affordable Dragon Trail replacement. In addition, the new items do not have a standard of protection against water and external pollution, have lost wireless charging technology and do not support microSD cards. Despite a less powerful processor and more modest materials, the new 3A and 3A XL received the same camera system as its predecessors. The basis of the main camera, as in the older Pixel 3 and 3XL, is a 12.2 MP Sony IMX363 module, supplemented by optics with an f / 1.8 aperture. In addition, the main camera supports optical image stabilization and has a series of technologies to improve the quality of the final image, such as an algorithm called Night Sight for taking pictures in low light without flash.
At one time, the Pixel 3 smartphone was the leader in the DxOMark rating. Its main photomodule was recognized as the best among single solutions, and now the budget new Pixel products have received the same cameras. Among the advantages of the camera, the Super Res Zoom algorithm stands out for bringing objects closer while maintaining the quality of the images, the Top Shot mode, when digital intelligence itself selects the best image from a series of photos. The selfie camera of the new products has an 8 MP sensor with f / 2.0 optics and also supports image enhancement modes. Smartphones of the budgetary series "Piskels" differ in display sizes. So, the Google Pixel smartphone of the younger model received a 5.6-inch screen, the older 3A XL - a 6-inch screen. Both displays are based on an OLED matrix and support Full HD + resolution. New smartphones of the Pixel family run on an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 chip, supplemented by Adreno 615 graphics. The Pixel 3A and 3A XL have 4/64 GB of RAM and internal memory. They are powered by 3000 and 3700 mAh batteries. Charging takes place via the USB-C port, although the new items also have a separate 3.5mm headphone jack.
