Insider # 7.03: Google Pixel 5; Redmi K30 Pro; Apple screens protection; Apple A14 Bionic

In this Insider Spotlight, we share insights from three electronics manufacturers. The first news will interest fans of Google. Interesting information about Pixel 5 has become available. The second information block is devoted to the discussion of the new flagship Redmi. In the end, let's talk about Apple's new processor and technology to protect the screens of mobile devices from prying eyes.

The first data on Google Pixel 5 has appeared

Users are accustomed to the fact that most of the flagship smartphones are equipped with the most advanced filling. This also applies to Google products. It is possible that this trend may lose relevance.

Insiders claim that Google Pixel 5 will not receive the most advanced processor.

This became known after the leak of information from the company's proprietary application.

Network informers gained access to the yet unannounced version of the Google Camera program, by the code of which you can find out a large amount of data about the new product. There they found references to a Sunfish device with the description "photo_pixel_2020_midrange_config". Insiders claim that Pixel 4a is meant here.

The code also contains information about the devices with the codenames Bramble and Redfin, which are signed "photo_pixel_2020_config". Chances are high that this is the Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL, which are scheduled to be announced this fall.

This idea is confirmed by another caption - "photo_pixel_2019_config", referring to Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL.

The document says that Bramble and Redfin will receive a telephoto lens, like in the Pixel 4. However, this information did not spark a keen interest among specialists.

It became known that as the basis of the hardware filling of the Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL, it is planned to use the Snapdragon 765G processor, which is inferior in characteristics to the flagship Snapdragon 865.

It is quite possible that during the adjustment and testing of these devices, the engineers of the American manufacturer will nevertheless decide to use Snapdragon 865. So far, the facts have not confirmed this. Probably, Google decided that the capabilities of the Snapdragon 765G will be enough to give the new line of smartphones the necessary performance.

The new Redmi smartphone will be the most affordable flagship of the company

Two years ago, a separate brand was spun off from Xiaomi - Redmi. He was called to create and popularize inexpensive devices. Until now, the subsidiary has not deviated from its priorities. This is confirmed by the latest data from his camp.

Renowned Indian insider Ishan Agarwal recently announced on his Twitter blog that the Redmi K30 Pro smartphone will receive a low price, despite using the flagship Snapdragon 865 chipset in its equipment.

As a result of such a step, other functionality of the device will suffer. Most likely, he will not receive advanced photo capabilities. Other specs won't be the most impressive either.

Earlier, there were rumors that the device will be released in India under the name Poco F2. Previously, Redmi K20 Pro was sold in this country as Poco X2.

Nothing is known about the exact characteristics of the novelty, the cost and the date of the announcement.

Apple A14 Bionic performed better than Snapdragon 865

Recently, the results of testing Apple's new chipset - A14 Bionic - have appeared online. In Geekbench 5, the chip showed 1658 points in single-core mode and 4612 in multi-core.

These are impressive results. They are better than the previous version of the processor. Even the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 fell behind with 930 and 3445 points respectively.

The Apple A14 Bionic will use 5nm technology in its manufacturing. Its mass production will begin in April this year. It is already known for sure that this processor will be used in smartphones of the iPhone 12 line. It will include four models. The prices for them and the date of the announcement were not announced.

New Apple technology will help protect smartphone screens from prying eyes

Modern mobile devices contain a lot of confidential data. When used in public places, unauthorized persons can access it. It seems that Apple knows how to avoid this turn of events. This is evidenced by their latest patent, which was recently filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Data on the new application has appeared on the Internet. This functionality of Apple is able to determine the area at which the user's gaze is directed and hide the rest of the display from prying eyes, making it illegible.

Thus, only the owner of the device will understand the content, others will not be able to read or view it.

A similar program was used in BlackBerry smartphones. It was called Privacy Shade. True, there was one additional condition: the user had to slide his finger over the text or the desired content. The rest of it was dimmed.
