Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite - mid-range smartphones are officially presented
Xiaomi has made an official announcement of the Mi A2 smartphone. Among its distinctive features are a fairly productive Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor (albeit last year), an increase in RAM up to 6 GB, a 20 MP dual camera with a highly sensitive mode, work on pure Android without MIUI firmware. Xiaomi Mi A2 Earlier in the spring, the company already had an acquaintance with the Mi 6X - a version for Chinese users with almost the same characteristics, but with the presence of MIUI firmware on top of the Android OS. The announced smartphones Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite run exclusively on Android 8.1, they are promised periodic updates of the security system and the basic interface. The official announcement of the manufacturer also mentions the built-in Google Assistant, but the tool does not yet have the USA language in its functionality. The older model Mi A2 received a 6-inch display without additional protrusions with support for FullHD + resolution. The device is powered by an 8-core Qualcomm chipset. Options for RAM and internal memory are presented in the form of a complete set of 4/32, 4/64 and 6/128 GB, respectively. At the same time, a smartphone of the basic assembly with a small drive does not have a microSD slot. The battery capacity is 3000 mAh. The outer casing of the device is small in thickness - 7.3 mm (the same figure corresponds to the iPhone 7 Plus). The new smartphone received a main 20-megapixel camera with a built-in Sony IMX376 sensor, which uses a tool to increase light sensitivity. The presence of the second 12-megapixel module allows you to get artistic photos with the effect of a blurred background. At the same time, it is possible to select one of the dual camera modules (for example, a module with a highly sensitive sensor for obtaining bright frames in low light conditions). The front camera has LED flash and Super Pixel technology similar to the main camera. Smartphones are planned for implementation in 40 countries, including USA, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan. The cost is currently determined only in euros and varies from 250 to 350 euros depending on the configuration. The device is presented in classic black, as well as in red, blue, pink, gold. Mi A2 Lite as a junior model has more compact dimensions, a simpler camera and processor, but the device is equipped with a rather capacious battery. The 5.84-inch screen has a characteristic notch (like the iPhone X), there is a built-in microSD slot. Memory options 3/32 and 4/64 GB, the Snapdragon 625 chipset released 2 years ago, also a 12 MP + 5 MP dual camera and a 5 MP front camera. The Lite model received a thicker case (specifically - 8.75 mm). Expected sales are scheduled in the same place as the Mi A2 version.
