April Release Calendar: Best April 2020 Games

While we are all in quarantine, games are one of the life-saving things for many people sent on forced leave. Last month, only a few high-profile projects were released: Half Life: Alyx, Doom Eternal and Mount and Blade 2. April, as for the classics, is much richer in new games. Here are the biggest and best game releases of April 2020.

Resident Evil 3 Remake - April 3 [PC, PS4, XBOX ONE]

The Resident Evil 3 remake is out now and is as dynamic as Capcom promised. Compared to Resident Evil 2, which was more intense, the third installment simply shows fireworks of explosions and dynamics.

And this is not a minus at all, because it is thanks to the high level of cinematography and the constant persecution by Nemesis that a feeling of panic is created, so the game copes with its work. Of the minuses, it is noted that the storyline campaign is quite short, but its size should be compensated for by the Resident Evil Resistance multiplayer mode. At least Capcom is counting on it.

Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories - April 7 [PC, PS4, Switch]

The 2018 Japanese exclusive, which will be released outside of your homeland, will throw you into the city in which the earthquake occurred and you must get out of it. You play as a guy who came for an interview, and it was at this time that the disaster happened.

The goal is to escape from the ruined city, find safe paths through emergency buildings, deal with panic and help people. There are more than 60 characters in the game that you will have to interact with in order to overcome the path.

Final Fantasy VII Remake - April 10 [PS4]

All fans of the Final Fantasy series have been waiting for a remake of the most popular part of it for a long time, and finally it will be released this month. The first part of the remake is dedicated to Midgard and the struggle of the main characters against the Shinra corporation. She is deploying mako reactors all over Midgard that threaten people and nature.

Overall, this is the only link between the original game and the remake, as it is completely overhauled and offers many new mechanics and new stories. For example, the game will be available both the classic combat system and its updated version. Despite the fact that this is only the first part of the remake, it will be released on two discs for PS4 and will weigh about 100GB.

Fallout 76: Wastelanders - April 14 [PC, PS4, XBOX ONE]

The Wastelanders add-on for Fallout 76 is essentially something that should have been in the game at the start and could save the game from a ton of criticism. However, fate decreed otherwise. Despite all the disadvantages of this game, it still has its own fanbase, which waited for the largest update since the release of Fallout 76.

In addition to the fact that the update will introduce fully voiced NPCs into the game, the game will have a storyline, quests, new enemies, weapons, a reputation system and much more on the little things. Whether this can somehow save the game - we will find out the answer soon.

Someday You'll Return - April 14 [PC, PS4, XBOX ONE]

In many ways, this horror has a touch of Silent Hill, both in atmosphere and in the plot, since the main character arrives in a mystical place where strange things are happening. In the story, you play as a father who is looking for his daughter, who fled to a mysterious forest, into which you once promised yourself not to return after experiencing terrible events there.

On the one hand, this is unlikely to be Silent Hill in the first person, but at least the trailer looks entertaining and offers us a little action.

Predator: Hunting Grounds - April 24 [PC, PS4]

An asymmetric multiplayer shooter where a squad of people and a Predator will collide. To be honest, there are very few good Predator games, or rather, there are almost none at all. But looking at the gameplay, we see that the developers have done a good job and really really want it to be true.

Playing as a group of soldiers, you must complete your main task and avoid the Predator, and the player who plays the hunter, in turn, must kill them.

Trials of Mana - April 24 [PC PS4 Switch]

Another remake this month is the RPG Trials of Mana, originally released in 1995. Trials of Mana has a similar gameplay to its predecessor Secret of Mana, only now the whole game has been transferred to 3D rails and it looks pretty attractive. This is one of those classic JRPGs that set trends.

If you don't own a PS4, but really wanted to play Final Fantasy VII Remake, Trials of Mana, while not so iconic and dark, is still the closest analogue that the release calendar for April has to offer.

SnowRunner - April 28 [PC, PS4, XBOX ONE]

A game for a narrow audience about trucks. In the game you have to overcome the road on different vehicles in extreme weather conditions. This is a very deep simulator with excellent physics and weather simulation. It is already clear that the developers have made a good product that visually recreates the harsh weather and all its components, while adding a good soundtrack.

At the same time, you have a large fleet of vehicles, ranging from pickups to huge vans and tow trucks.

Gears Tactics - April 28 [PC]

A turn-based strategy prequel to the original Gears of War, where we'll play as Gabe Diaz, Kate's father, the main character of Gears 5.

On the one hand, it's a good idea to make a turn-based strategy a la XCOM, but only in the Gears of War setting. You see with your own eyes the height of the war, the expansion of the lore, and from the gameplay point of view, we are promised great boss fights with giant bosses.

In fact, the conflict has only local skirmishes, and we will also see many new things that will only deepen it and reveal details from the original story.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Campaign Remastered - April 30 [PC, XBOX ONE]

In fact, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remake was released earlier this month, but it is currently only available on PS4. At the same time, you can play it anywhere, but not in the USA PS Store. There are no specific reasons why this happened, but at least we can play it at the end of the month on PC or XBOX ONE.

This is the same Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but with all the included remaster features: support for wide monitors and screens, HD textures, improved sound, etc.

Minecraft Dungeons - April 30 [PC, PS4, XBOX ONE, Switch]

I don't know who came up with the idea to make an Action-RPG out of Minecraft in a dungeon with monsters, but this game will still be released at the end of this month. It will feature both single and multiplayer. Although what to expect from a game about randomly generated dungeons with randomly generated monsters in a minecraft setting is unclear.

As you can see, the April releases are quite encouraging and the games will be released in batches throughout the month.
