Atomic Heart Soundtrack by Mick Gordon

Atomic Heart continues to prove with all its might that it exists. This time, thanks to such a big name as Mick Gordon, the author of the soundtrack for the last two Doom installments. He co-writes the soundtrack for Atomic Heart with the sound team Maundfish. Therefore, we will hear Gordon's work through the lens of the developers.

You can hear the result of their cooperation in the new gameplay excerpt, which shows the battle with the mini-boss Ivy. The creature is a clot of blood and tendons that has come to life through government experiments. You can see from the gameplay that the enemy is far from easy, but as the developers assure, he is not the strongest yet.

We were also informed that the game will visit the next generation consoles and in the next-gen version there will be no loading screens, and the graphics will be released to a new level. The game will be released next year.

You can learn more about Atomic Heart here and here, where the developers answer to the biggest fan questions about the game.

Visceral Games' Star Wars could be the best game in the entire franchise

Visceral Games' Star Wars, aka Project Ragtag, was canceled in 2017, breaking the hearts of fans, and still has a painful scar. One of the game's developers and producer Zach Mambach told MinnMax about the development details and that Project Ragtag could be the best Star Wars game ever.

According to him, the development began in very strange conditions. The studio specialized in story-driven single-player games like Dead Space and worked with its own engine. However, EA for some reason transferred the developers to the multiplayer Battlefield Hardline on a completely different engine. As a result, many singles specialists left the studio, for example, quite a lot of people started working in Crystal Dynamics on Marvel's Avengers.

Soon, EA again transferred the studio to work on a single-player third-person game. But even then there were not enough specialists in it.

In many ways, Amy Hennig played an important role in the development of Project Ragtag, whom Mambach recalls with warmth. According to him, she made a number of important decisions that helped the game acquire a lot of potential regarding the plot and its characters. She performed well, even when it became clear that the project had no future.

The studio managed to work out well the main character of the game - a criminal who resembles a mixture of Star-Lord and Robin Hood. Visceral also worked on many levels that no one will see now. Thus, Mambakh recalls a chase scene where the protagonist is being chased by a two-legged AT-ST, who is hiding in the city streets. According to the producer, the level used the destructibility of the environment, created thanks to the Frostbite engine. The level itself resembled the dynamics of Uncharted.

Mambakh is confident that the game had every chance to take the title of the game of the year, and overall become the best game projects in the entire Star Wars franchise. The reasons why EA canceled the game - he does not know. At first, it was assumed that the development came out very expensive, since the studio was based in San Francisco. However, Respawn Entertainment is also working in this city, but their Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is out.

Halo infinite release postponed to 2021

The announcement of the release of XSX in November is accompanied by the sad news that the most anticipated game for it will be released only next year. No specific release date for Halo infinite has been announced.

The reasons are also unclear. In addition to the fact that the studio was given a hard coronavirus pandemic, Industries 343 did not name other reasons.

Most likely, the studio was also influenced by negative feedback from players regarding the graphics of the game. Anyway, we still have a lot of good memes.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is postponed to 2021

Also this week we were upset with the news about the transfer of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. The reason for the transfer is the ambition of the developers to make a worthy successor of the first part and not lose face.

Image

The decision to postpone was given to the team with difficulty, but she considered it the most correct and advantageous in the first place for the game. A new release date will be announced in the next couple of months.

Recall that the release was originally supposed to take place in March 2020, and later it was postponed to the end of the year.

Fan remake of Golden Eye 007 was covered by copyright holder after two years of development

As often happens, the copyright holders have closed another good fan project. This time it is a remake of GoldenEye 007, released in due time on Nintendo 64. It is noteworthy that the game was closed after two years of development.

A project called GoldenEye 25 was planned to be released by the 25th anniversary of the game in August 2022. Initially, the developers just wanted to port the game to Unreal Engine 4, but it turned out to be easier to create it from scratch.

Development started in 2018. Fans constantly posted screenshots and gameplay snippets on YouTube, where they received many likes and positive comments. Alas, the copyright holder of James Bond MGM and Danjaq sent a letter to the developers demanding to stop development. The developers were ready for this from the very beginning, so they weren't too upset.

The team launched Project Ianus, a first-person shooter inspired by the classics of the 90s. It is there that they will transfer all the developments of an excellent project and remove all connection with James Bond. Therefore, in fact, the game still survived.

This was all the important news from the beginning of the week. Keep calm and keep playing and we'll see you next week ... in the next digests ...
