Apple introduced a new generation MacBook without a proprietary keyboard (Topic)

Apple has unveiled the new 16-inch MacBook Pro, the successor to the previous 15-inch model. The key features of the novelty are the enlarged screen and keyboard. For the first time in years, the company has ditched its proprietary butterfly technology, and the new Pro 16 uses a "normal" scissor keyboard instead.

The MacBook Pro 16 was the first branded laptop to feature a scissor keyboard for the first time in four years. The company promoted the "butterfly", calling it more convenient and modern, however, due to its specific design, many owners of "apple" laptops faced sticky buttons. Apple has made several attempts to solve this problem, releasing new modified modifications of "butterflies", but decided to experiment with the Pro 16 model, returning to the standard "scissors".

The keyboard of the new MacBook was named Magic Keyboard. Among its features is the increased distance between the buttons. Despite the laptop's size, the keyboard doesn't take up much panel space, leaving plenty of space around it. Above the Magic Keyboard is a fingerprint scanner and Touch Bar.

Screen and other specifications

The IPS screen on the 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro is, according to the company, larger than any other Retina display. Along with the increased diagonal, the screen has a higher resolution. At the same time, the pixel density reaches 226 units per inch, and their total number is about 6 million dots. The backlight of the display is provided by LEDs, and its brightness reaches a maximum of 500 nits. The screen is "friendly" with the proprietary True Tone technology, which adjusts the color rendering for ambient lighting, thereby protecting your eyesight.

In terms of technical parameters, the new MacBook is not much different from its 15-inch predecessor. It is based on a 9th Gen Intel chip, complemented by an AMD Radeon Pro GPU. Among the interfaces in all versions there are three USB-C ports and a jack for wired headphones. The laptop has a modified cooling system built in, consisting of two fans with an increased number of heat transfer plates and a redesigned blade structure.

The Pro 16 is powered by a 100Wh battery, which Apple calls the most powerful of any MacBook. In standby mode, the battery should last for almost a month, and the active use in battery mode is up to 11 hours. The acoustics of the MacBook Pro laptop is represented by six speakers, among which there is a pair of low-frequency ones. The system provides surround sound and is complemented by three professional microphones.

Builds and Price

Worldwide, the new MacBook Pro comes in two trim levels. The base build includes a six-core Intel Core i7 chip, 16GB RAM, and 512GB internal storage. The retail cost of this MacBook in USA is 200 thousand rubles.

The premium version features an eight-core Intel Core i9, the same 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The price of this configuration is 233 thousand rubles.
