Chinese regulator TENAA updated its databases and found something interesting in them. More precisely, these are photographs of the new Honor Play 8 smartphone, which reveal some of the nuances of its design. The front panel of the device, in the spirit of the latest traditions, is almost devoid of frames. On the left and right at the ends, respectively, the company's engineers mounted a tray for SIM-cards and a volume control with a power button.

The Honor Play 8 is expected to have a 6.08-inch display with a resolution of 1560x720 pixels.

The 8 megapixel selfie camera will be housed in the front notch described above. The main camera has 13 megapixels. An eight-core 2.3 GHz chipset and 3 GB of RAM will be in charge of the entire hardware filling.

The gadget must be powered by a 2920 mAh battery. The novelty does not have a fingerprint scanner, a more modern face recognition system is installed. The operating system is Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.0 shell.

Announcement date and cost not specified.

Microsoft engineers continue to research flexible smartphones

It's been almost two years since Microsoft released the latest smartphone under its own name. Insiders became aware that patents began to appear describing foldable pocket gadgets. This suggests that the company has not lost interest in these devices, Redmond continues to develop in this direction.

One such patent describes a device that has a hinge device that connects two displays when they are folded.

A latch is indicated on the diagram of the device, which is needed to prevent accidental damage if there is an attempt to open the device incorrectly.
