James Mangold will expose the corrupt cops
James Mangold is now enjoying a moment in his career that other directors have been waiting for years. After the success of "Logan", which was released just a couple of weeks ago and has already earned more than $ 400 million at the worldwide box office, new offers probably fell on Mangold , but he chose to continue cooperation with the studio 20th Century Fox .According to the portal Deadline , the filmmaker is in talks to lead the filming of the film adaptation of Don Winslow's novel The Force . The studio acquired the rights to it last fall, even before the work had a title. The book, which has not yet been published, has already earned the approval of Stephen King, who compared the novel to The Godfather, only to the police. All Danny Malone wanted was to be a good cop. He and his team are the smartest, toughest, fastest, most courageous cops, part of an elite special squad that has unlimited powers in the war against gangs, drugs and weapons. All 18 years of service Malone spent on the front lines. He did everything to protect the city built on ambition and corruption. Everyone here is unclean, including Danny himself.  Few people know that during one of the largest raids in New York, Danny and his guys stole millions of dollars in drugs and cash. Now Malone is trapped: he is under pressure from the feds, he is torn between betraying his partners, work, family and the woman he loves, while the city is on the verge of a racial conflict that could destroy everyone. The project is produced by Ridley Scott, Shane Salerno (Wanted) and Michael Schaefer (The Martian). The studio has already started looking for a screenwriter to adapt the original for Mangold .  Before taking on Logan , Mangold directed another clawed mutant movie, Wolverine: The Immortal, as well as the action comedy Day Knight and drama "Train to Yuma". A couple of years ago, the director agreed to work on the biographical drama Seducing Ingrid Bergman, but there hasn't been much progress since then, probably due to Mangold being busy with Wolverine 's latest solo album.
