The Many Faces of Cumberbatch
Having played Doctor Strange in the blockbuster Marvel and returned to the image of Sherlock Holmes on the small screens, Benedict Cumberbatch is ready to switch to a completely different project. According to the site Deadline , the actor is in talks to try on the image of the swindler Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter in the film " Man in a Rockefeller costume " by Fox Searchlight Pictures .If the negotiations are successful, the project will be included in the long list of biographical tapes in which Cumberbatch played during his career. Adapted the book by Mark Seale, which is the basis for the picture, David Bar Katz ("The Pest"), the director for the biopic has not yet been found. Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter was born in Germany, but in the late 70s he managed to move to the United States under a false name and a false pretext. After living for some time in Connecticut, the swindler went to Wisconsin, where he entered a local university and even married an American woman in order to obtain citizenship. He deceived the girl, assuring her that if she did not marry him, he would be sent back to his homeland to fight in the Cold War. Soon after the wedding, Christian left his new wife and headed to California.  Already in 1995, a swindler, claiming to be a descendant of the Rockefellers , married a second time to a businesswoman named Sandra Boss . It wasn't until 2006 that she hired a private detective to find out who she really married, which led to the divorce. A couple of years later, Christian kidnapped their common daughter, after which he was arrested. Also Gerhartsreiter was charged with the murder of Jonathan Sohas , in whose house he once lived in California. The story of the swindler has already been heard from small screens - in 2010, the Lifetime channel released the television movie Who Is Clark Rockefeller? starring Eric McCormack.  Cumberbatch has already embodied the images of real historical figures - Alan Turing in The Imitation Game, Billy Bulger in Black Mass, and Julian Assange in The Fifth Estate. Among the actor's future projects is the drama War of Currents, where he will play Thomas A. Edison, as well as the blockbusters Thor 3: Ragnarok and Infinity War.
