Yorgos Lanthimos will reveal the fake Rockefeller scam
The director of The Favorite and The Lobster, Yorgos Lanthimos, will direct and produce the series based on Mark Seal's book The Man in the Rockefeller Suit. The plot of the bestselling book is based on the famous story of deception - about how a fraudster over the years passed himself off as a descendant of the famous Rockefeller clan. The project is being produced by Fox Searchlight subsidiary Searchlight Television.In 1985, a German named Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter murdered his landlord's son John Sauhus. The killer managed to successfully hide the body in the backyard of the house, after which he left the state and went all out. Posing as a Hollywood producer or a computer wizard, he tried to arrange his life. However, having received information that the police found Sauhus's body and are now looking for the killer, the swindler changed another fake name and became James Frederick Mills Clark Rockefeller. Apparently, this helped him, and already in 1995 he married the top manager of a large enterprise Sandra Boss. With stories about the unreceived inheritance, which he was about to sue, Christian fed his wife for 12 years, until she began to suspect something was wrong. As a result, Sandra saw through her husband and ended the marriage,  The adaptation of The Man in the Rockefeller Suit was originally developed by Fox Searchlight as a feature film with a lead role. Benedict Cumberbatch, and the director was Pablo Trapero.
