How to Train Your Monster
After the costly films "Excellence" and "On the Crest of the Wave" from Alcon Entertainment failed at the box office, the studio decided to try its hand at creating animation films. In May last year, the film company began work on a cartoon based on the comics about Garfield , and today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that the management of Alcon acquired the rights for the adaptation of the popular children's book by Shane Hegarty Darkmouth .The story is set in the small town of Darkmouth, where a portal between our world and the world of Darkness arose long ago. For many years, a brave clan of monster hunters stood guard over human civilization. It seemed that they managed to seal the portal forever, but after a few years, the minotaurs and other monsters decided to make a new attempt to invade people. The only hope of the inhabitants of Darkmouth for salvation is the heir to a great line of monster hunters named Finn . The problem is that he is only 12 years old and he dreams of becoming a veterinarian ... The adaptation of the book will be handled by Lloyd Taylor ("The Great Journey"), who has become a screenwriter thanks to the Disney Starring Writing Program.  David Moses Pimentel and Doug Sweetland have been invited to direct the cartoon. The former acted as a storyboard artist for the animation film How to Train Your Dragon and headed the script team for the Disney hit Moana, while the latter's track record includes such popular Pixar cartoons as The Incredibles, B Finding Nemo ”and“ Toy Story ”.
