Logan was the first to enter the Oscar race
20th Century Fox is the first film company this season to announce that it is ready to seriously fight for the Oscar. The DVD-recording of the film hit the Academy mailboxes yesterday morning. James Mangold's March release starring Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart marked the end of the X-Men era, at least for Wolverine and Professor X.After its release, "Logan" received high ratings and rave reviews from fans, deservedly becoming one of the best films in the series about mutant people. James Mangold's film has every chance of being nominated for Best Picture, especially if the fall releases fall short of expectations. Since the beginning of the millennium, only Erin Brockovich has succeeded in 2000 and the Grand Budapest Hotel - in 2014.  Fox has already announced its seriousness this year. In addition to two films featuring Hugh Jackman ("Logan" himself and "The Greatest Showman"), the corporation boasts Steven Spielberg's Newspapers, the relaunch of Murders on the Orient Express, and the fantasy thriller War of the Planet of the Apes, also nominated for an award Academy.
